Crowdfunding is a method of raising funds from a large number of people, typically via online platforms. It allows individuals, businesses, or organizations to present their projects, causes, or ventures to a wide audience, inviting contributions from interested individuals, known as backers or supporters.

Crowdfunding involves creating a campaign that outlines the details of a project or cause, including its purpose, goals, and often, rewards for backers. Supporters can then contribute financially to the campaign through the crowdfunding platform. If the funding goal is reached within a specified timeframe, the project is funded, and funds are typically released to the campaign creator.

There are various types of crowdfunding, including reward-based (backers receive non-financial incentives), equity-based (backers receive a share of the project), donation-based (contributors give without expecting anything in return), and debt-based (backers lend money to the project, expecting repayment with interest).

Crowdfunding offers a democratized approach to funding, allowing creators to access capital from a broad audience. It also provides a platform for testing market interest, building a community around a project, and gaining early support and validation.

WOKEFUND is a funding platform specifically designed to support projects led by Black and Brown creators, organizations focused on urban centers, and initiatives in disenfranchised markets. We help these creators raise funds for their creative projects and business ventures while providing a platform to showcase their work.

WOKEFUND is uniquely focused on elevating and supporting Black and Brown creators and their communities. We offer continuous funding (similar to GoFundMe), which means creators can access funds immediately rather than waiting until a campaign ends or reaches its goal. Additionally, we're part of the Unmutedco LLC family of brands that includes NoirPlus, NoirTube, and other platforms dedicated to amplifying Black and Brown voices.

Anyone 18 years or older can create an account on WOKEFUND, either to create projects or support existing ones. While our platform especially highlights Black and Brown creators, anyone with projects that align with our mission can create campaigns on WOKEFUND.

Yes, WOKEFUND is available internationally, though some features may vary by region. International transaction and conversion fees may apply based on your payment method.

Unlike some crowdfunding platforms, WOKEFUND processes contributions immediately when you make them. The Project Creator will receive your funds (minus our transaction fee) shortly thereafter, regardless of whether their campaign has reached its funding goal.

Since funds are transferred to Project Creators shortly after your contribution is made, WOKEFUND cannot directly issue refunds. You may contact the Project Creator to request a refund, but the decision to issue one is at their discretion.

While browsing projects doesn't require an account, you'll need to create one to make a contribution. This helps with payment processing and allows you to track projects you've supported.

Yes, you can choose to hide your name and contribution amount from public view. However, the Project Creator will still have access to your information for reward fulfillment and communication purposes.

When you make a contribution, you'll have the option to add an additional amount to support WOKEFUND's operations. This helps us maintain and improve the platform, but it's completely optional and never required.

Yes, if you choose to make a recurring donation, there is a 3% fee per donation to help make this feature possible for our community.

No, creating an account and starting a project on WOKEFUND is completely free.

WOKEFUND charges a 5% transaction fee that is automatically deducted from each donation. This fee covers our platform costs, including payment processing. International transaction and conversion fees may apply based on the payment method used.

With WOKEFUND's continuous funding model, you'll have access to your contributions (minus our transaction fee) shortly after they are made, regardless of whether your campaign has reached its goal. You don't have to wait until your campaign ends to receive funds.

  • First withdrawal: Minimum withdrawal amount is $1,000 unless your campaign threshold is lower (minimum threshold is $500)
  • If your campaign threshold is between $500-$999, the minimum withdrawal amount is $250
  • Subsequent withdrawals: Available in increments of $500 after the first withdrawal is executed
  • All withdrawals are subject to standard payment processing times

No. WOKEFUND uses a continuous funding model, which means you keep all contributions made to your project, regardless of whether you reach your funding goal.

You can set your campaign duration based on your project needs. Some campaigns run for just a few weeks, while others may continue for several months. There is no maximum time limit for campaigns.

Yes, you can offer rewards to people who support your project. These might include early access to your product, special merchandise, unique experiences, or other incentives based on contribution levels.

If you're unable to complete your project or deliver promised rewards, you must:

  1. Post an update explaining what work has been done, how funds were used, and what prevents you from finishing the project
  2. Work in good faith to find an alternative way to satisfy supporters
  3. Demonstrate that you've used funds appropriately
  4. Be honest in all communications
  5. Consider offering refunds to supporters when possible

WOKEFUND provides built-in tools to send updates to your supporters. You can post public updates visible to all project visitors or send private messages to specific supporters.
